The Sama Veda is the third of the four Vedas and is known as the Veda of melodies and chants. It is one of the oldest scriptures of Hinduism and has had a huge influence on Indian classical music.The word Sāma means “melody” or “song.”
So Sama Veda = “The Veda of melodies.”
